DC Sports Headers

August 21st, 2009 No comments

When you are looking for upgrading your car’s performance, one of the best ways to do this is with a performance header. DC Sports has been producing some of the best performing headers for the longest time, and produces one of the most widely used exhaust header today. While other companies copy the DC Sports design, DC Sports pioneers it.

DC Sports Headers are designed in a few various styles for you to be able to pick the exact combination that you want. The two main styles is the DC Sports Ceramic Header and the DC Sports Stainless Steel Header. If you are looking for a header that is CARB legal and will pass smog inspection, you want to look at the DC Sports Header. As DC Sports releases new headers, they do not always have CARB certification right away. However, as a new car, you do not need to pass smog right away, you usually have about 4 years until you need to do your first smog check. By this time, DC Sports CARB pending headers will usually be CARB certified. To find out from the ARB or Air Resources Board which DC Sports headers are smog legal, view the ARB Website, and search by DC Sports as the manufacture. Please keep in mind that DC Sports Race Header is not CARB exempt.

Now that you know which DC Sports headers are CARB legal and will pass smog visual and tailpipe inspection, we will go into detail about the performance differences between the DC Sports 4-2-1 and DC Sports 4-1 header. The DC Sports 4-1 header is designed for more top end all out power, and does not give as much power in the low end. This is good for those who are seeking peak horsepower numbers. The DC Sports 4-2-1 header is designed for more midrange power, and is great for those who use their cars mainly for daily driving, or autox, and are not necessarily looking for peak power numbers. However, the horsepower difference between the two will be small, and will only vary by a few horsepower for most applications.

DC Sports Headers are available with polished stainless steel and brushed stainless steel, and have beautiful hand welded tig welds at the flanges. The brushed stainless headers are hand mig welded, and feature that custom look that is very desirable. The DC Sports Ceramic headers are mild steel, but coasted with a special temperature and corrosion resistant ceramic coating, with a special coating thickness. Each header is designed to have the best ground clearance available, so even those of you with lowered cars will have more room to not bump your header on rocks and speed bumps.

Agency Power New Product Release: Porsche 997TT Exhaust

July 31st, 2009 No comments

Agency Power is releasing an Exhaust system for the Porsche 997TT today.

Agency Power has developed this exhaust system to give Porsche 997 Turbo owners a race tone exhaust without the dreaded drone in the 2200-2800 rpm range. The muffler system is designed to keep noise level down inside the cabin but roar at full throttle. The exhaust features high flow 200 cell catalytic converters. The cats work with the factory O2 primary and secondary sensors to not throw a check engine light. The all 304 stainless steel is robotically tig welded and then mirror polished for a final product that only belongs on an exotic car like the Porsche. The exhaust works with the factory tips or other aftermarket ones.

With the design of the Agency Power exhaust system for the 997 Turbo, it not only improves sound, it adds power and saves weight off the rear end. The factory system is very bulky and weighs almost 60lbs. The new Agency Power system cuts that by 50% to reduce weight on your already heavy rear engine car. Because of the reduced restriction in the high flow 200 cell cats compared to the stock 400 cell, the turbos are able to relieve exhaust gas much quicker. Agency Power uses larger 76mm piping to handle the increased horsepower. The 1 piece rear muffler design also aids in gaining horsepower by reducing back pressure with a more free flowing internal construction. As tested on our Mustang AWD Dyno, the exhaust gained 21 awhp and 32ft/lbs of torque.

This exhaust system has been tested on several different cars for just over a year. One of the best tests we put this system through was on the 2009 Gumball 3000 Rally. A 700HP 997TT Coupe and a 630HP 997TT Cab ran from LA to Miami running the Agency Power exhaust systems with great sound, no issues, and much praise from the owners.

This system is available for sale today.
