Fujitsubo exhaust systems are now available at Redline Motive!

Fujitsubo is a leading manufacturer of exhaust systems for Japanese vehicles. Known for their exceptional quality, and engineered to increase power while maintaining a deep quiet tone. Redline Motive will be offering select models from the Fujitsubo lineup, which have been test fitted and sound checked in the US by a Fujitsubo engineer. From the Fujitsubo lineup, Redline Motive will offer Legalis R, RM01A, and Super Ti exhaust systems, as well as select downpipes and exhaust manifolds.

Legalis R is Fujitsubo’s most popular model. Designed for street use it improves both low- end and mid-range power. All Legalis R systems are constructed of stainless steel, and are available in two different tip styles, round with slanted tip or oval.

RM01A is complete stainless steel competition exhaust. Developed for use in Auto-X, Gymkhana, Rally-X and for high performance street applications. Most applications will see a 50% decrease in weight over OE exhaust systems while increasing both mid range power and torque.

Super Ti is Fujitsubo’s premier model. Each Super Ti kit is designed for optimum performance (High RPM range) and reduced weight. Muffler, resonators, and piping are all made of titanium making each application as light as possible. Muffler tip diameter ranges from 100mm to 122mm.

Established in 1931 as a motorcycle manufacturer, Fujitsubo Motors produced the first Japanese made motorbike called the Eagle. In 1965 Fujitsubo began manufacturing automobile parts, and now holds 12 patents. Fujitsubo products continue to be on the leading edge of exhaust components and manufacturing.

Product testing and development has been conducted in various forms of motorsports including WRC, Super Taikyu, D1GP, Gymkhana, Dirt Trial, and Formula 4 plus on Fujitsubo’s on site 1/4 mile test strip. All of Fujitsubo’s testing has enabled them to become ISO 9001 certified, JASMA certified, and a TUV license holder. Fujitsubo is the Japanese Domestic Market leader in exhaust systems.

To achieve such a performance increase, K&N replaces the original intake assembly; including the air box, air filter and intake tube with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a K&N High-Flow Air Filter that increases airflow and never needs to be replaced. Protecting the carbon fiber top cone-shaped air filter, and isolating it from engine heat, is a powder coated heat shield that replaces the stock air box, which retains the use of the factory fresh air scoop. As it passes the filter, air travels through a K&N mandrel bent aluminum tube that is formed and shaped, in the design phase, to drive a more laminar flow of air to the car’s engine. Additional features include a powder coated aluminum upper intercooler tube replacing the stock piece for improved air delivery and an attractive wrinkle-red powder coated finish to enhance the Evo X’s engine bay.

Originally created for the Crawford Performance Unlimited AWD Time Attack Subaru and Ken Block’s Gymkhana racecar, these pistons are now available to the public. The new pistons are 100% CNC machined from high quality 2618-T6 wrought aluminum bar stock and are specifically designed for high horsepower road and drag race engines. The pistons feature internal and external bracing, a unique donut dish crown and an application-specific under crown profile that properly redistributes heat and reduces stress concentrations experienced in high boost Subaru engines. Unlike forged pistons, the billet pistons are machined on every surface allowing for all unnecessary weight to be removed during manufacturing. The result of this new process is a weight reduction of up to 35 grams compared to other piston packages available! High quality 9310 steel wrist pins and JE Pro Seal Rings are included. DC Sports Headers

When you are looking for upgrading your car’s performance, one of the best ways to do this is with a performance header. DC Sports has been producing some of the best performing headers for the longest time, and produces one of the most widely used exhaust header today. While other companies copy the DC Sports design, DC Sports pioneers it.

DC Sports Headers are designed in a few various styles for you to be able to pick the exact combination that you want. The two main styles is the DC Sports Ceramic Header and the DC Sports Stainless Steel Header. If you are looking for a header that is CARB legal and will pass smog inspection, you want to look at the DC Sports Header. As DC Sports releases new headers, they do not always have CARB certification right away. However, as a new car, you do not need to pass smog right away, you usually have about 4 years until you need to do your first smog check. By this time, DC Sports CARB pending headers will usually be CARB certified. To find out from the ARB or Air Resources Board which DC Sports headers are smog legal, view the ARB Website, and search by DC Sports as the manufacture. Please keep in mind that DC Sports Race Header is not CARB exempt.

Now that you know which DC Sports headers are CARB legal and will pass smog visual and tailpipe inspection, we will go into detail about the performance differences between the DC Sports 4-2-1 and DC Sports 4-1 header. The DC Sports 4-1 header is designed for more top end all out power, and does not give as much power in the low end. This is good for those who are seeking peak horsepower numbers. The DC Sports 4-2-1 header is designed for more midrange power, and is great for those who use their cars mainly for daily driving, or autox, and are not necessarily looking for peak power numbers. However, the horsepower difference between the two will be small, and will only vary by a few horsepower for most applications.

DC Sports Headers are available with polished stainless steel and brushed stainless steel, and have beautiful hand welded tig welds at the flanges. The brushed stainless headers are hand mig welded, and feature that custom look that is very desirable. The DC Sports Ceramic headers are mild steel, but coasted with a special temperature and corrosion resistant ceramic coating, with a special coating thickness. Megan Racing HeadersThe Acura Integra is one of the best performance bargains of our time, and comes with a high revving 4 cylinder engine that is begging to be modified. One of the best modifications you can do is to get rid of the factory Acura Integra exhaust manifold, and replace it with a high performance exhaust manifold, also known as a header. There are many headers available on the market for the Acura Integra, but none are more desirable than the Acura Integra Megan Racing Headers. The Megan Racing header is stainless steel, and resists rust and corrosion. There are also two different designs for the Megan Racing Header for the Acura Integra… there is the 4-2-1 design and also the 4-1 design. This header also has one of the best ground clearance space possible, and due to a good design, sits close and tucked up, so even with a lowered car, you will get more ground clearance than with many other stainless steel headers of this type.

Acura Integra 4-2-1 Megan Racing Header

The 4-2-1 Megan Racing header is designed for those with an Acura Integra that are looking for more mid range power than top end power. It will still increase top end power over the stock header, but it’s more designed for mid range where most people drive when they are not racing or in competition. This header is designed to bolt up to the stock Acura Integra Catalytic Converter and has a o2 sensor bung for the factory Acura Integra Oxygen Sensor.

Acura Integra 4-1 Megan Racing Header

The 4-1 Megan Racing Header is for those who want the most peak and top end power possible. It features 4 runners merging into one, which is the best for top end power, and works great for cars equipped with VTEC. The header is 4-1, and this one is only available for the 1994 to 2001 Acura Integra GSR only. This one also features a special 2.5″ header outlet, that will not bolt to the stock catalytic converter. You would need to get a high flow 2.5″ catalytic converter to bolt up to it. You could also use a 2.5″ testpipe, but make sure the testpipe will bolt to your catback exhaust. If you use a testpipe, you can get a check engine light eliminator that keeps your OBD2 Acura Integra from throwing a check engine light due to a missing catalytic converter. What it does is put a spacer between your testpipe and your Acura Integra Oxygen Sensor, so the oxygen sensor reads less air flow, and does not trigger a check engine light.

What does the Megan Racing Header come with?

For the Acura Integra, Megan Racing provides an exhaust manifold gasket, and all of the nuts and bolts that you need for an easy install. It also comes with a place for your factory o2 sensor.

How hard is the install on a Megan Racing Header for my Integra?

We believe this is one of the best fitting and easiest to install headers available, and they also are available in two piece, which basically splits the header in half sideways to allow you to bolt the top part of the header to the cylinder head first, and then bolt on the lower header pipe. TEIN Type Basic Coilover Kit

Today we want to explore the benefits of using a coilover kit over a tradition shock and spring combo, or just springs with stock shocks. We’re going to be reviewing the TEIN Type Basic Coilover Kit, because it is an entry level coilover kit, and made by a company that has been developing coilovers for winning race teams, and applying the technology to the daily driver, weekend warrior, and competition racer. We’ll be discussing why we like the TEIN coilover kit, and why we prefer this one over assembling your own suspension combo. TEIN also makes other suspension products such as their TEIN STech lowering springs, and more high end coilover kits, and specialty items like tie rods. You can see our full TEIN lineup.

The TEIN Type Basic Coilover Kit is a full coilover kit and not a sleeve over coilover kit, meaning this setup comes with all 4 shocks, and all 4 springs, together in a package. Each shock is specially designed for the spring rate, and the amount of lowering possible with the kit. This ensures that the TEIN Basic Coilover Kit will have a long life, and not wear like a stock shock when you use a lowering spring. The TEIN shock has a twin tube internal construction, a steel casing, and a large 22mm piston that stock shocks simply can not touch. TEIN also builds their shocks to be repairable, so you can have it repaired as opposed to having to replace the whole unit.

The TEIN Basic Coilover Kit is called the Basic because it allows for right height adjustability, but not shock adjustment. We recommend this for 95% of our customers, because most of our customers will simply be driving on the street, and possibly track their car once in a while. Since most driving is on the street, we do not recommend to adjust the shocks, as bad adjustments, or “seat of the pants” adjustment can lead to worse handling than leaving the adjustments alone. TEIN has pre-set the shock stiffness on the TEIN Basic Coilover Kit, so it is set to the prefect range for aggressive handling, but extremely comfortable ride quality. This makes the kit even more appealing, because you simply bolt them on and go.

Like with all TEIN Coilover Kits, the TEIN Basic Coilover allows you to set it’s ride height. This allows you to lower the car as much as the coilover allows, and then raise it back up again until you find the perfect ride height. Unlike lowering springs that are a set height, and non adjustable, the TEIN Basic Coilover Kit gives you the freedom to change ride height by simply turning the adjustment wheel using the supplied TEIN adjustment wrench.

Depending on the application, some of the TEIN Basic Coilover Kits come with upper pillowball mounts. When looking at our catalog, you will see if your particular application includes them. The TEIN Upper Pillowball Mounts allow you to adjust camber, so you do not need a seperate camber kit. If your TEIN Basic Coilover Kit does not come with this, you will need to reuse your stock strut mounts.

The reason we recommend for you to get a TEIN Basic Coilover Kit, over buying shocks and springs seperately, or even shocks, and a sleeve type coilover kit such as Ground Control, is because TEIN has carefully calculated the best spring rate, and best shock rate to use together, creating a perfect combo that has been track tested by one of the world’s best suspension manufactures. If you buy shocks that are too much for your springs, or springs that are too much for your shocks, your car will look good by being lowered, but it will not handle well, and will require a lot of adjustment to get it right. Usually, with a seperate shock and spring set, or shock and sleeve coilover kit, you get a very harsh ride, the coilovers making noises and squeeks, and possibly a bouncy ride. The TEIN Basic Coilover Kit is designed with comfort in mind, and is one of the most comfortable, and best riding coilover kits on the market.

We recommend that when installing the TEIN Type Basic Coilover Kit that you get your car professionally aligned. This will ensure you get the most contact patch with the road, and that you can set your car to take full advantage of the suspension while reducing wear on your tires.

Acura Integra Eibach Pro Kit and Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs

If you are looking to lower your Acura Integra, there are a lot of different options available, but no option is as trusted and well known as the Eibach suspension company. For the Acura Integra, Eibach offers two different types of lowering springs. We recommend these Eibach Lowering Springs for all of the years of the Acura Integra, from the second generation 1990-1993, to the DC2 and DC4 which is the 1994 to 2001. These are great for both the coupe and sedan, and work on all of the different trim Acura Integra from the LS, RS, GS, GSR and Type R.

Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs

The Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs is designed to lower your Acura Integra enough to get rid of a lot of the wheel gap, but not be slammed, and is great because it is easier on your stock shocks than lowering springs that lower more, and also has a spring rate that retains the ride quality of your Acura Integra which makes it perfect for the daily driver. Many times, the owner might have an Acura Integra that has an aftermarket turbo kit, and has a downpipe that hangs lower than most headers, and it might scrape on the ground over bumps, or when you have too many people in the car. With the Eibach Pro Kit, you don’t have to worry as much, since the drop isn’t as drastic as with other lowering springs.

Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs

The Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs are designed for a much more aggressive drop, and lower your Acura Integra much more. The Eibach Sportline lower your Acura Integra to close more of the wheel gap, and give the car a much more planted and stable feeling, and a lower center of gravity. With the Eibach Sportline, the Acura Integra usually requires a camber kit, but just like with the Pro Kit, the Sportline offers a good ride, spring rates that are reasonable so you don’t feel every pebble on the road, and incredible handling. With the Eibach Sportline, we would recommend upgraded shocks such as the Tokico Illumina for long life, even better handling, and adjustability.

Installing the Eibach Lowering Springs

Installing the Eibach springs are pretty straight forward, and every Pro Kit and Sportline set comes with detailed instructions. You would need standard tools, and a spring compressor. You can get the spring compressor at a local auto parts store such as Pep Boys. They usually let you rent them at either no cost, or very little cost. We recommend getting this. After you install your springs, you should get an alignment for your Acura Integra. At this point, you will see how far your camber is off. Usually, the more you lower your Integra, the more your camber will be off. Don’t forget to pick up a camber kit to get your camber back in line, and your car handling even better!

Is it possible to lower my Integra too much?

Absolutely! Some die hard Integra guys would tell you that the lower the better, but aside from looks, it can hurt your handling. Eibach lowers the car as much as possible while retaining the benefits of having a lowered car.

Honda Civic AEM Cold Air Intake Kit

When modifying your Honda Civic, you need to start with the basics. The best way to increase performance is to allow the engine to breathe better. The first modification that we recommend would be to get an intake system. For the Honda Civic, we recommend the AEM Cold Air Intake Kit, because it will out perform the AEM Short Ram Intake Kit at just about every RPM, producing higher horsepower and torque numbers.

We like the AEM Cold Air Intake, because it relocates the air filter to an area as far away from the heat of your engine as possible. Because it does this, the air it takes in is colder and more dense, therefore creating more horsepower and torque, and giving your car better throttle response and overall power. Many of the AEM Cold Air Intake Kits are also CARB legal, meaning they are smog legal and will pass both visual as well as tailpipe inspections in many states even the ones as strict as California.

There is an AEM Cold Air Intake available for just about every Honda Civic on the market. Each AEM intake is a direct bolt on, requiring no engine modifications, no extra tuning, or any modifications to install. Depending on the year or trim of your Honda Civic, there might be an instance where you need to cut some of the inner fender well to fit the air filter. If this is the case, AEM provides complete install instructions to make your install as easy as possible. You can install an AEM Cold Air Intake on your Honda Civic in a matter of an hour with basic hand tools. We recommend the AEM Cold Air Intake as your first modification, because this modification will get you started on the path to letting your engine breath better, and make more power without having to do any sort of tuning, fuel modifications, exhaust modifications or anything else that could be related to other mods. Keep in mind that once you start adding other modifications, those mods will produce more power since you already have an intake on your car. So if you get an exhaust system after your cold air intake, you can expect that exhaust to make more power since your car is already modified on the intake side.

The typical Short Ram Intake Kit and Cold Air Intake Kit is designed with a single pipe that attaches to your turbo, or your throttle body, and has an air filter on the end. These intake kits make extra horsepower and torque over a stock intake system by strategically placing the air filter in a location where it can take in the coldest air possible. They also make more power by having an open element air filter, so there is little restriction on the air getting to the air filter.

Honda Civic TEIN STech Lowering Springs

One of the most common mods you can do to your Honda Civic is to lower it. This not only improves the looks dramatically, but it also helps with handling, braking, and overall enjoyability of the car to make it perform better. With the Honda Civic being such a popular car to modify, there are so many choices in lowering springs. One of our favorite lowering springs is the TEIN STech.

One of the things we like the most about the TEIN STech lowering springs is that you can retain good ride quality with your Honda Civic, even if you have an engine swap and the engine might be heavier than your stock engine. The Honda Civic TEIN STech lowering springs typically lower your Honda Civic about 1.5 inches, but range depending on the year of your Civic and also what trim it is: EX, Si, DX, LX etc. Many of our customers ask us if they need performance shocks to go along with their TEIN STech’s. It really depends on if your stock shocks are in good shape. Lowering your Civic will make your stock shocks wear faster as they are not designed to support a lowered car or lowering springs that have a higher spring rate. If you are looking for a good shock, we recommend either the adjustable Tokico Illumina Shocks or the Tokico HP Shocks. Both of these will be a great compliment to the TEIN STech springs. If you want to try and save some money, you can install the TEIN STech springs now, and wait until your stock shocks blow, and replace them at that time. If you do the work yourself, it won’t cost you anything except for time, but if you pay a shop to install these then it will cost you later to do them at seperate times. Please also be aware that it’s dangerous to drive with blown shocks.

For those who want to install the TEIN STech springs yourself, the install on a Honda Civic is very straightforward, and can be done in a few hours with hand tools. We recommend using a spring compressor which you can rent at a local auto parts store. Besides the spring compressor there is really not much to it besides removing the stock assembly, and replacing the springs. For those of you who want to ensure your tires last, we recommend getting a Honda Civic Eibach Camber Kit. The camber kit will help with handling even more as it would allow your lowered Civic to have the most contact patch possible between the tires and the road.

The TEIN Part numbers below have the car’s chassis code listed next to them. This code refers to the hatchback, sedan or coupe. Usually, for the Civic, you will see the part number for the civic, hatch or coupe is usually the same. Please verify the part numbers before ordering.
