One of our customers asked us about this kit, so we decided to post it up for those of you who have a Pontiac G8 and are looking for a turbo kit. It looks like this kit is made by a company called Rx Racing, and it’s their Street Demon Series 485 horsepower Pontiac G8 Turbo Kit.

Here’s the manufacture description:

Regarding installation of this Pontiac G8 Turbo Kit:

We are the parts supplier, not mechanic. We can try our best to help with generic questions, but it is best to consult a professional turbocharger installer with specific questions.

There are no installation instructions included. The install is simple and most customers install it themselves in a weekend. If you cannot figure it out or feel uncomfortable with the installation, please have a professional assist.

Most of these parts are direct bolt-ons. Some are not.

The piping needs to be fitted up. Because of the bends and couplers included, it should be simple.

The T3 turbo flange needs to be welded to an adapter pipe or directly to the stock manifold.

To run this on a street car, the turbocharger down pipe will need to be connected to your existing exhaust. Expect to fabricate an adapter pipe or have an exhaust shop connect them.

COBB XLE Blow Off Valve

COBB Tuning announces the availability of the XLE Blow Off Valve (BOV) for turbo equipped Subarus and the MAZDASPEED3. The COBB XLE BOV can be configured to operate in multiple modes using simple hand tools. Innovative engineering and precision manufacturing result in a compact package capable of holding high levels of boost consistently and reliably.

The COBB XLE BOV can operate in one of three modes with simple adjustments. Full recirculation is achieved by plumbing the primary output back into the intake pre-turbo with the auxiliary port closed. Full atmosphere is possible by opening both the primary port and auxiliary port to atmosphere. A hybrid mode is also possible by pluming the primary port into the intake and leaving the auxiliary port open to atmosphere, causing much of the air to recirculate to retain driveability, while still creating an audible exhaust of some of the boost pressure.

Spring preload determines the pressure differential across the BOV piston required before the BOV opens and releases the pressurized intake charge. The COBB XLE BOV can be adjusted by loosening the locknut and turning the hex-head shaft clockwise for more preload or counter-clockwise for less preload. Once preload is set, the locknut is retightened and ensures the adjustment is secure.

Materials used to construct the COBB XLE BOV ensure ease of maintenance and long service life. The mounting flange, body, vent cover and piston are constructed of 6061 T6 aluminum, the spring seat is made from 303 stainless steel and the primary outlet is polished cast aluminum. O rings are used around the piston and on the mounting flange to ensure optimal sealing. The valve body is hard anodized for strength and corrosion resistance. The piston is dry filmed lubricated, providing enduring maintenance free service.

Nissan GT-R Record Breaking Power with COBB AccessPORT

GOTO:Racing’s GT-R represents the very edge of development for this particular platform. There are perhaps a handful of fully race-prepared GT-Rs in the world. Of course, because this vehicle is not a factory effort, the progress on the GOTO GT-R is a direct reflection of the aftermarket industry that supports the GT-R. GOTO:Racing and the Lock family have prepared a state of the art chassis. However, at a comparatively heavy 3,400 pounds, this race car needs serious power to be competitive.

The GOTO:Racing GT-R is equipped with the COBB Tuning AccessPORT and custom mapping from a collaboration of Tim Bailey from COBB Tuning Surgeline, Portland, OR and Jon Drenas of HB Speed, Hunington Beach, CA. This form of engine management was a natural choice with the stock turbo chargers and just over 520whp, but some suggested with the recent addition of larger turbos from AMS and fuel injectors from Deatschwerks, that a standalone engine management system was needed. We are pleased to demonstrate in no uncertain terms that the COBB Tuning AccessPORT, with supporting modifications and competent tuning, is capable of coordinating extremely high horsepower.

Technical Tuning details
The key to tuning this car is the addition of the larger inner diameter intakes, kindly supplied by Harman Motive. The stock intake inner diameter is just 2.5-inches. This substantive increase in intake cross sectional area means that we can accurately measure up to 40% more airflow than is possible with the stock intake system. As you can see from the graph below, we were able to flow close to the limits of the MAF sensor without saturating their 5-Volt limit.

Because we were able to accurately meter airflow throughout the full RPM and boost range, the tuned stock ECU can easily control ignition timing and fueling. We have supplied relevant information for the rest of the tuning parameters in the additional graphs.

Since its release, the Nissan R35 GT-R has been in need of high flow downpipes. The Agency Power Stainless Steel Catless Downpipes fit either the stock or any aftermarket exhaust system. Constructed of durable, high quality 304 stainless in a full 3″ diameter. The improved flow from the larger diameter catless pipes produce more power, keep boost pressure up and provide improved throttle response for you R35 GT-R. Each Agency Power Downpipe has oxygen sensor bungs, thick flanges and sturdy hangers.

With the option of a Jet Hot black ceramic coating, the AP downpipes will also help reduce exhaust temps.

The Agency Power Down Pipes have seen gains of +40hp and +20tq on a conservative AWD Mustang Dyno when attached with supporting mods.

ATS Diesel Turbos for the 7.3L Power Stroke

ATS Diesel has introduced a complete bolt-on turbo kit for the 1999.5–2003 7.3L. The Aurora Turbo System will be available for these years of Power Strokes in the Aurora 3000, Aurora 4000, Aurora 5000 and Aurora 6000 configurations. As with other ATS kits, no end user fabrication is needed and the kit is supplied with the required mounting hardware, including the cast pedestal, up-pipes and intake pipes. The design of the Aurora Turbocharger supports towing and upgraded power applications, with increased airflow which, according to ATS Diesel, surpasses factory turbo output. Often the up-pipes in the factory system can begin to display leaks when the gasket material fails due to drive pressures fed to the turbo, the ATS system remedies this by using leak-free metal gaskets. This, as well as the many other changes that were made for the Aurora System versus the OEM design, creates a performance advantage for 7.3L owners and opens the door for the many applications that these trucks are used for, according to ATS Diesel. Greddy Turbo Kit – R35 GT-R 700 whp on 91 octane

SP Engineering has installed another Greddy turbo kit on a customers R35 GT-R, and had some impressive results. 700 wheel horsepower on 91 octane fuel.

After the 91 octane runs, it was time to step up the octane and run the car on 109 octane and it did 749 awhp at 1.6 bar of boost.

Then the fuel was switched out again, to my favorite big turbo, big boost fuel – C16. 117 octane leaded race gas and the car laid down 775 awhp. This is now one of the most powerful, if not “the” most powerful R35 GT-R in the world

AMS Performance Oil Sump 2002-2007 Subaru Front Mount Intercoole

The AMS Subaru 02’-07’ WRX/STI Front Mount Intercooler is the best performing direct bolt on you can buy. This durable, race analyzed intercooler core is proven efficient to 800 hp and is 160% larger than its stock counterpart.

The AMS Intercooler features cast aluminum end tanks for added durability with smooth features and geometry. Designed by our engineering team using Solidworks (3D CAD software) these A356 T6 Alloy Aluminum end tanks have improved flow over their sheet metal counterparts. We go beyond our competition to ensure quality. Each AMS Intercooler is hand TIG welded in a jig for a perfect fit and pressure tested to 50 psi to ensure maximum performance.

We tested many intercooler cores to find the best performing core available. The highly efficient 3.5″ thick AMS intercooler core is the same as those found on many of our record setting race and street vehicles. Our kit comes complete with intercooling piping, silicone and hose clamps from the throttle body to compressor outlet to ensure a precise fit. AEM Mitsubishi Version 2 EMS systems released

AEM Performance Electronics is pleased to introduce its Series 2 Plug and Play Standalone Engine Management System for 1st and 2nd gen Eclipse/Eagle/Galant, 3000GT, Evo 8, and Evo 9 race cars (part #’s 30-6300, 30-6310, 30-6311, 30-6312 and 30-6320). The Series 2 EMS for Mitsubishis, which replaces AEM’s first generation EMS, represents a complete hardware redesign with greatly enhanced features, including a USB data port, 1MB of internal data logging, up to 6 peak and hold injector drivers, and up to 6 coil outputs. In addition, all Series 2 EMS systems come loaded with the company’s new AEMTUNER software, a completely new user interface software which replaces AEMPRO. AEMTUNER is only available on Series 2 systems.

BMW owners can now enjoy the benefits of increased flow and more efficient air to help dramatically lower intake air temperatures to increase power. By using a massive 6” thick W.A.V.E. Technology core, the Spearco front mount intercooler dropped charge air temperatures on average of 125 degrees on the twin turbo vehicle. In addition to lower intake air temperatures, the pressure of air exiting the intercooler compared to the pressure entering the unit was only an amazing 0.20 psi drop. The stock unit has over one pound of pressure loss/drop due to the factory unit’s lack of efficiency and limited size. When the stock unit is upgraded to the Spearco you will have less heat and more power due to the ability to quickly and efficiently move the pressurized air through the intercooler assembly.

Once the initial investment is made, the result is a lifetime of free power and improved fuel economy. The intercooler reduces charge air temperature entering the engine, increasing the air density for increased power and torque, while reducing the overall thermal load on the engine and cooling system as exhaust temperatures are reduced at the same time. This results in less transfer of heat to the cooling system, and engine compartment and assists in maintaining normal temperatures on long hard power pulls. Since the intercooler is mounted in the factory location there is no need to worry about making any modifications to the vehicle. In addition to power and performance, you can anticipate an increase in fuel economy as the cooler, denser air creates a leaner air-to-fuel ratio.

Recirculation-Style Water/Methanol Injection Pumps

AEM Performance Electronics announces the release of a running upgrade to their Water/Methanol Injection Kits. This new recirculation-style pump offers more consistent flow at higher line pressures across its entire delivery curve to ensure maximum atomization for increase air charge cooling and combustion control/efficiency on forced induction gas and diesel engines. This new pump design now comes standard in every AEM Water/Methanol Injection Kit or can be purchased as a separate upgrade for existing systems. AEM’s recirculation-style pump offers improved performance, reliability and a much smoother, quieter operation when compared to older switched-style pumps. With the use of a new internal bypass design, AEM’s upgraded pump eliminates the erratic on and off switching/pulsing and ensures consistent fluid delivery for optimum performance. AEM Brass Sensor Kits

AEM Performance Electronics has expanded its line of pressure sensors to include a line of high quality brass pressure sensors at an affordable price. Each sensor kit includes a brass pressure sensor and standard 3-pin weatherproof flying lead connector. All sensor connections are 1/8” NPT. These new sensor offer a lower price alternative to the AEM Stainless Steel pressure sensors (30-2130). These new brass sensors are a less expensive alternative for the budget minded crowd. AEM would still recommend their stainless steel sensors for anyone with a higher-end build or race car that requires that level of accuracy and durability.

K-Type Thermocouple & Wiring Extension Kit

AEM Performance Electronics introduces a new rugged K-Type thermocouple at an affordable price. The K-Type thermocouples have a 12” flying lead with standard ring terminals for easy connection. A stainless steel compression mount is also included with each thermocouple. The thermocouple extension kit includes 10’ of thermocouple wire terminated with standard ring terminal connections at one end for easy connection to the K-Type thermocouple. HKS has released GT wastegate actuators for the 08+ Evo X and Nissan Silvia S14/S15. These HKS actuators have three distinct advantages over their OEM counterparts. They use a larger diameter diaphragm enabling increased boost stability and response at higher rpm ranges. GTSPEC has released their external wastegate solution for the Subaru exhaust manifold. Their solution will be available in four different ways: 3 bolt uppipe only allowing current GTSPEC header uppipe combo owners to upgrade their uppipe only, 2 bolt uppipe only allowing customers to use the stock manifold or other aftermarket manifolds, full equal length manifold and externally gated uppipe together, and lastly full racing manifold and externally gated uppipe together.
