2009 & 2010 Audi A4, A4 Cabriolet and A4 Quattro Gain 18 HP with K&N Air Intake

K&N continues to improve vehicle performance through its continuous production of new air intake systems guaranteed to increase horsepower and acceleration. K&N’s air intake (69-9505T) for 2009 and 2010 Audi A4, A4 Cabriolet and A4 Quattro models with a 2.0 liter engine is just another example of K&N’s dedication to outstanding performance. The Audi A4 is an entry-level luxury car with elegant styling and sharp handling. The 2.0 liter engine however, lacks the power one would expect from such a prestigious car.

K&N product developers looked at the restrictive factory intake setup of the Audi A4 and immediately knew they could achieve more horsepower. “Along with a body change in 2009, the Audi A4 air box was also relocated,” said product manager Bert Heck. “We had to start from scratch. Our ultimate goal was to get as much power out of the vehicle as we could without affecting the drivability of the vehicle. Older A4 model designs made doing this very difficult.”

Development began with the testing of varying intake tube diameters with the mass air sensor installed in both the tube and in the factory mass air housing. After a series of testing sessions and design changes K&N engineers came up with a design that met all goals.

“With the limited space and use of the factory mass air housing, little space was left for the air filter,” commented Heck. “We had to eliminate the intake tube and design a custom hose to replace it. This saved space and allowed for a larger K&N air filter.” The air intake’s filter, part RF-1047, is a cone shaped, high-flow air filter that provides excellent filtration, outstanding engine protection, and less restriction than the factory air filter.

A custom heat shield was also designed as part of the 69-9505T intake. It helps to reduce the amount of hot engine compartment air going into the engine. It also utilizes the factory fresh air inlet to direct cooler outside air into the air intake.

K&N’s comprehensive testing of the 69-9505T utilized three test vehicles with approximately 100 dyno pulls, road testing and computer monitoring. The final result showed a power gain of 18.14 horsepower at 4435 rpm with the use of K&N’s 69-9505T air intake system.

Installation of the 69-9505T air intake system is easy with K&N’s photo illustrated instruction sheet. K&N’s 69-9505T air intake system typically installs on 2009 and 2010 Audi A4, A4 Cabriolet and A4 Quattro models with the 2.0 liter engine in 90 minutes or less with common hand tools.

2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser and 4Runner K&N Intake – 12 Horsepower Gain!

At first glance, the 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser bears a strong resemblance to its famous sibling, the FJ40 Land Cruiser. But underneath its skin, more than 40 years of off-road heritage combine with modern conveniences like satellite radio, a reverse/backup camera, and traction control to bring Toyota off-road enthusiasts a very capable machine. Power is generated by Toyota’s proven and reliable 4.0L V6 engine. However, the true performance potential of the 4.0 is held back, due to restriction in the stock air intake system.

Air intake system designers at K&N knew there was more performance potential hidden underneath the hood of the FJ. The 63-9034 intake system for the 2010 FJ Cruiser, helps uncover much of that hidden performance. The 63-9034 will also fit 2010 Toyota 4Runners with 4.0L V6 engines.

With the K&N 63-9034 restrictive air intake components are removed and replaced with K&N-designed components which have less restriction. The factory air filter and air box are replaced with a reusable K&N conical air filter (part number RF-1044XD), which has very low restriction and excellent filtration. K&N’s air intake tube is constructed of a roto-molded material that provides a smooth inside surface and eliminates even more of the restriction created by the factory intake. Air flow restriction keeps an engine from running at its peak efficiency and power output. How much power does restriction rob from a 2010 FJ? K&N testing shows about 12 horsepower and 13.91 lb.-ft. torque at 4600 RPM!

A powder-coated steel heat shield protects the air filter from engine heat, as well as the occasional splashes you might encounter while out on the trail. Detailed, photo-illustrated instructions make the 63-9034 easy to install, requiring only basic hand tools. You can even watch an installation video of this air intake on a 2010 FJ Cruiser. Ford Super Duty F250, F-350, F-450, F-550 Diesels Add 16.4 HP with K&N Air Intake Kit

Ford met the heavy duty truck buyer market with its Super-Duty Line. Their stronger-than-ever F-250 and F-350 diesel have more payload and towing capacity. Ford’s new F-450 PowerStroke diesel V8 pickups have a gigantic 24,000 lb. towing capacity. Take a look at our 57-2576 features video to see dyno testing in progress.

K&N has developed an air intake system (57-2576) for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4 liter V8 Diesel engine, the 2008 to 2010 Ford F-350 Super Duty with a 6.4 liter V8 Diesel engine, the 2008 to 2010 Ford F-450 Super Duty with a 6.4 liter V8 Diesel engine, and the 2008 to 2010 Ford F-550 Super Duty with a 6.4 liter V8 Diesel engine.

K&N dynamometer testing shows a 16.4 horsepower gain at 2600 rpm and a 25.73 lbft gain of torque @ 2500 rpm. This is more than an 8 percent increase in torque compared to the original intake for improved towing and passing power.

The K&N air intake tube was designed and shaped to provide the maximum amount of horsepower while staying within the factory parameters for this twin turbo application. There is no need to re-program when you run our K&N air intake system. The 57-2576 makes use of the factory mass air sensor and electric filter minder.

The lifetime replacement K&N air filter (RU-5172) is washable and reusable. It is made of six layers of cotton gauze for maximum surface area and filtration. Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s Mustang RTR

Mustang RTR – a new generation of Mustang

World Champion Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. is excited to introduce a new generation of the Ford Mustang to the world – the Mustang RTR. Along with designer Caleb Clark and the help of Classic Design Concepts, Vaughn has successfully brought his ultimate vision to life in the form of this modern, aggressively-styled Mustang with the perfect mixture of performance upgrades for any spirited driver.

The Mustang RTR will be available in multiple color combinations at select Ford dealerships nationwide beginning in February of 2010. This package will first be available with the 2010 Ford Mustang GT; however, a V6 version will be soon to follow. K&N Intake for Evo X adds 21 Horsepower!

The K&N High-Flow Intake System for the 2008-09 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X 2.0L Turbo, (part no. 69-6546TWR) increases horsepower by 21.42 hp at 6100 rpm over the stock intake configuration.

To achieve such a performance increase, K&N replaces the original intake assembly; including the air box, air filter and intake tube with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a K&N High-Flow Air Filter that increases airflow and never needs to be replaced. Protecting the carbon fiber top cone-shaped air filter, and isolating it from engine heat, is a powder coated heat shield that replaces the stock air box, which retains the use of the factory fresh air scoop. As it passes the filter, air travels through a K&N mandrel bent aluminum tube that is formed and shaped, in the design phase, to drive a more laminar flow of air to the car’s engine. Additional features include a powder coated aluminum upper intercooler tube replacing the stock piece for improved air delivery and an attractive wrinkle-red powder coated finish to enhance the Evo X’s engine bay.
